Mini Ep 69 My baby will come when they are ready ~ Marlies Verschoor & Indigo Melrose
A special offering from our hearts to yours. This season’s mini episodes are a 5-part collaboration with Marlies Verschoor, a self-care guide from the Netherlands whose mission is to support people on their path to self-love and connection. Each week Marlies and Indigo will explore how mothers can better care for themselves through loving self-connection. Each mini episode will offer a heart point, a self-share, a world share, a self-care strategy and a meditation.
This week’s offerings:
Heart Point: My baby will come when he or she is ready
~ Self Share: External pressure once we pass our ‘due date’. Marlies and Indigo have both experienced this. The medical profession can use frightening terminology. Marlies ~ during birth I was rushed. Marlies ~ speaking to the women trying to conceive and waiting.
~ World Share: Australia has the highest rate of induction. Domino effect of interventions, medicalisation of birth. Manufacturability ~ want to control everything big fear over loss of control (that we don’t actually have), want to control our when, how we get pregnant, what gender/how many children, what our birth will look like (birth wishes [plans] - how I want to ‘look’ as how I want it to feel) and we lose the ability to birth naturally. Knowing our options can be empowering.
~ Strategy of self-care: Make a vision board of how you would like to feel and how you want to experience your birth.
Meditation: My baby will come when he or she is ready
